This September, we celebrated the 15^th anniversary of the Chatham Community Library. By the numbers since opening this location, we’ve seen:

• Nearly 20k library cards issued.
• More than 2.5 million transactions.
• Successful annual summer reading programs for children.
• Almost 550 computer classes taught.
• Thousands of hours of community programming, lectures, and interactive classes in addition to weekly interest groups for all ages.

In short, the library is a destination; a safe and welcoming space for all that forms the hub of our community and supports all with so much more than books and materials. In these 15 years, the  Friends of the Chatham Community Library (a 501(c)3 non-profit) has partnered with the library to hold book sales and solicit memberships to supplement County-budgeted funds and allow for more materials and services, including recent enhancements such as the Kanopy platform for movies/documentaries and ComicsPlus to bring graphic arts to fans.

And while we’ve seen the numbers grow and services enhanced, there have always been a list of “wouldn’t it be great if…” items our allocated and raised funds have not been able to cover. With that in mind and in celebration of our 15^th anniversary, the Friends of the Chartham Community Library is excited to launch our 15 Wishes for 15 Years campaign.

Now and throughout 2026, the Friends will be reaching out through emails, events, and mailings to individuals and businesses to ask for help in making these wishes come true to build upon the current successes of our library by providing some of the following.

As we look ahead to our campaign year, I hope you will consider making a gift to fund these wishes.
